Why Local Matters

A Local Roofing Company That Treats Your Home Like Family

Our philosophy is simple: we take care of your roof the way we would want someone to take care of ours.

  • Permanent Route 66 roots

We are a family business based along historic Route 66 in Commerce, with our office at 111 S Main Street in Miami. We were here before the last storm and we will be here after the next one.

  • We know what this weather does

Northeast Oklahoma averages 4 to 5 hail days a year, 57 days above 90°F and 89 nights below freezing. Hail bruises, heat bakes, and freeze-thaw works joints loose. We look for all three.

  • You see what we see

Every inspection comes back with photographs and a written explanation of what they show. If your roof has years left in it, we will tell you that.

  • Help with the insurance process

We document the damage properly and can meet your adjuster on site. Your insurer decides coverage — our job is to make sure the damage is on the record.

  • We look after the property

Landscaping protected, the site kept tidy, and a final walkthrough before we call it done.

  • No job too big or too small

A single flashing repair matters as much to us as a full replacement. We appreciate every person we get the opportunity to help.

How to know a roofer is the real thing

Oklahoma requires roofing contractors to be registered, and checking one takes about thirty seconds at verifyroofing.cib.ok.gov. Registration also means the contractor carries at least $500,000 in liability coverage for residential work. Ask any roofer who knocks on your door after a storm for their registration number — and ask us for ours. If someone can’t give you one, that tells you what you need to know.

Storm & Insurance

Storm Damage Documentation and Insurance Claim Assistance

Insurance is where most roofing jobs get stressful. Our part is making sure the damage is documented properly and explained plainly — so you can make a decision with the facts in front of you.

  1. Property safety and temporary protection

If water is getting in, that comes first. Emergency tarping buys time so the damage stops spreading while everything else gets sorted out.

  2. Full roof and exterior inspection

We check the roof, the flashing details, the vents, the gutters and the soft metals. Hail bruises soft metal before it shows on shingles, so the gutters often tell the story first.

  3. Photo documentation and written findings

You get a detailed photo report of what we found and a written estimate for the work we would perform. That is the record your claim rests on.

  4. Adjuster coordination when you ask

If you would like us there when your adjuster visits, we will be there to walk the roof and point to what we documented.

  5. Approved scope, work, and cleanup

Once you and your insurer settle the scope, we schedule the work, protect the property, and finish with a walkthrough.

We are roofing contractors, not public adjusters or insurance attorneys. Coverage decisions are made by your insurer under your policy.

Materials

Roofing Materials for Northeast Oklahoma Homes

There is no single best roof — there is the one that fits your budget, your building and the weather it has to survive. Here is the honest comparison.

Comparison of roofing materials for Northeast Oklahoma by service life, relative cost, hail and wind behaviour, maintenance, and best-fit property.
MaterialTypical service lifeRelative costHail & windMaintenanceBest fit
3-tab asphalt shingle15–20 years$Moderate. The thinnest, cheapest shingle — it cracks and blows off in the hail and wind we actually get here.Low, but a short life. Common on older and builder-grade homes.Tight budgets and low-wind regions — which Northeast Oklahoma is not. If this is what you have, it is worth knowing its limits before the next storm.
Architectural asphalt shingle25–30 years$$Good. Thicker and more wind-resistant than 3-tab, but hail can still bruise it.Low. Occasional repair; keep gutters and ventilation working. Most Miami and Ottawa County homes. The default for good reasons — cost, availability, repairability.
Impact-resistant (Class 4) shingle30–50 years$$$Excellent. Rated to UL 2218 Class 4, the top impact class — built for a hail market.Low. Same as architectural.Homeowners staying put, tired of repeat hail claims. Ask your insurer whether they offer a discount — Oklahoma does not require one.
Standing seam metal40–70 years$$$$Superior against wind. Hail can cosmetically dent panels without affecting performance.Very low. Occasional fastener and sealant checks at penetrations.Grand Lake properties and exposed rural sites with a long wind fetch. The closest thing to a lifetime roof.
Exposed-fastener metal25–40 years$$$Good. Fastener washers are the weak point and need periodic attention.Moderate. Washers degrade with UV and thermal cycling.Outbuildings, shops, barns and budget-conscious metal jobs.
TPO / EPDM / modified bitumen15–30 years$$–$$$Varies by membrane thickness and system. Seams and penetrations are what fail first.Moderate. Drains and flashed curbs need checking.Commercial and low-slope roofs — shops, churches, multi-family.

Service life and performance depend on the specific product, ventilation, deck condition, installation quality, exposure and maintenance — these ranges are general guidance, not a guarantee. On impact-resistant roofing: Oklahoma does not require insurers to give a discount for it. Some carriers offer one anyway. Ask your agent what they offer and what documentation they need.

FAQs

Questions We Get Asked Most

If your question is not here, ask us at the inspection — we would rather over-explain than leave you guessing.

Do you offer free roof inspections in Miami, OK?

Yes. Inspections and quotes are free, with no obligation. We look at the roof, the flashing details, the ventilation and the gutters, then show you photos of what we found and explain what we think it means.

What roofing services do you provide?

Repair, replacement and new installation for both homes and businesses, plus storm damage work, emergency tarping, inspections, maintenance, gutter cleaning and repair, ventilation repair and skylight work. Asphalt shingle, metal and low-slope commercial systems.

Can you tarp a leaking roof after a storm?

Yes. Emergency tarping is one of the first things we do after wind or hail, because a small opening lets water into the decking and insulation quickly. Tarping is temporary protection while the permanent repair is scoped — it is not a repair in itself.

How can I tell whether hail damaged my roof?

From the ground, look for dents in soft metal like gutters, downspouts and vent caps — those bruise before shingles show it. On the roof itself, hail damage looks like dark bruises and granule loss rather than holes. A roof that "looks fine from the ground" often is not, which is why the inspection is free.

Do you help with insurance claims?

We help with the parts a roofing contractor can lawfully help with: we document the damage with a detailed photo report, give you a written estimate for the work we would perform, and meet your adjuster on site if you ask us to. We are not public adjusters and we do not negotiate or file your claim — your insurer decides coverage under your policy.

Do I need a repair or a full replacement?

It depends on the age of the roof, how widespread the damage is, and whether the decking underneath is still sound. Isolated damage on an otherwise healthy roof is usually a repair. Widespread granule loss, repeated leaks in different places, or damage across most slopes usually points to replacement. We will tell you plainly when a repair is only buying time.

What roofing materials work well in Northeast Oklahoma?

Architectural asphalt shingles are the default for good reasons — cost, availability and repairability. Impact-rated shingles cost more but are built for a hail market. Standing seam metal lasts longest and sheds wind and hail well, which is why it is popular around Grand Lake. Commercial low-slope roofs generally use TPO, EPDM or modified bitumen.

Do you provide commercial roofing?

Yes — flat and low-slope systems for businesses, churches and multi-family buildings, as well as steep-slope commercial work. We schedule around your operating hours where we can.

Do you clean gutters?

Yes, and we repair and install them too. Gutters matter more than people expect: water that overflows behind the fascia rots the roof edge from underneath, which turns a cheap job into an expensive one.

Can you repair roof ventilation?

Yes. Ventilation is one of the most commonly under-built parts of an older roof. Northeast Oklahoma sees around 57 days a year above 90°F, and an attic without balanced intake and exhaust cooks the shingles from underneath and shortens the roof’s life.

Do you install or repair skylights?

Both. Most skylight leaks are not the glass — they are the flashing kit around it, or a failed seal. We will tell you which one you are dealing with.

Which communities do you serve?

Miami and Ottawa County first, plus Commerce, North Miami, Quapaw, Fairland, Afton, Wyandotte, Grove, Vinita and the Grand Lake communities. We are a Route 66 company and we work across the four-state corner. Service areas are subject to crew availability.

How can I tell if a roofing contractor is legitimate in Oklahoma?

Oklahoma requires roofing contractors to be registered, and you can check any contractor in about thirty seconds at verifyroofing.cib.ok.gov. Registration also means they carry at least $500,000 in liability coverage for residential work. After a storm, ask anyone who knocks on your door for their registration number — and be wary of anyone offering to cover your deductible, which is unlawful here. If a roofer can’t give you a number, that is your answer.
